Ginger and Garlic – Jason Cleverley

Jason bought ginger & garlic restaurant eight years ago, after searching for hospitality opportunities throughout the South Island.

The sparkling view over Caroline Bay from the upstairs restaurant left no doubt in his mind.

As well as the fantastic views and stunning ambiance, g&g already had a name for quality. Our plan was to increase this name to a level where we could call ourselves “Timaru’s premier dining destination.”

Working towards this goal, we have been awarded The 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Hallmark Excellence awards for ‘the highest culinary standard in Beef and Lamb.’ Also the Meridian Business Excellence Award 2006.  

Over the last seven years, Jason has modified and adapted his menu to satisfy both the local palette and the avid traveller. When asked to sum up his menu, he replies… “A kiwi-ana menu with a touch of zest”

What’s does the future hold for g&g? "We continue to strive to offer Timaru & South Canterbury's premier dining destination."
